MySQL recovery: choosing files or Binlog
Intact data files provide surviving records, while Binlog provides transaction and row-change evidence. Surviving files with incomplete logs, complete logs with schema changes, and lost directories with surviving pages require different recovery paths.
File extraction, Binlog DELETE/UPDATE and historical table snapshots require different evidence. Confirm exact versions, log continuity, row images and schemas before choosing the method.
